What is League of Legends?

League of Legends is a free downloadable game. It is avaible for Windows PC and Apple Macs. League of Legends is a competitive, team-based game. Players create a login and a unique account name that other players will know them as. This is called a Summoner Name. Before a match starts, players will be grouped up into a team of five total players. At the end there is one winner and one loser. The team must work together to destroy and defeat the oppenents base, which we call their nexus. Each match can last anywhere between 20-50 minutes. There are multiple maps but the most common one is Summoners Rift.

What are Champions?

Champions are individual characters that are directly controlled by real life people. Each team will have five champions, for a total of 10 champions per game. Champions are unique, meaning that no two are exactly the same. In a standard game, there can only be one of each champion per game. There are 132 completely unique champions that players can choose from. Every Champion has at least 5 abilities. You are able to use these abilities by pressing the button Q, W, E, R. Each champion also has a passive ability, which is always active.
